I started my career in veterinary nursing in July 2000, aged 16, just two weeks after leaving school. I completed an NVQ2 in Animal Care before progressing to my nurse training, qualifying in 2003. I have spent the last 19 years in small animal practice, carrying out a number of roles including trainer/ assessor of student nurses, stock control, insurance claim advisor, branch safety officer, fire warden and many more!  I have spent the last 12 years as head nurse.

I love my job as much now as I did 19 years ago and I’m looking forward to offering something new to our clients.

My main interest is in medical cases and long term management of chronic conditions.

I live with my husband, 2 sons and our naughty beagle cross ‘Arnie’.

Why I joined VetCare@home? I'm excited to be joining VetCare@home and taking on a new challenge. I'm happy to be offering a more convenient way to access veterinary care in the community that me and my family live in.
Guilty pleasure? Dunking custard creams in a hot cup of tea!
First pet? Tibbles was a white, fluffy cat who lived with me from being a kitten until he was 18 years old. He was with me through most of my major milestones in life and taught me all about the highs and lows of owning a pet.
Best advice? Trust your gut instinct when it comes to your pet. You know them better than anyone else and your instinct will almost always be right.
Interesting fact? My specialist subject on Mastermind would be Thomas the Tank Engine!

John provided a service second to none, he did Poppy proud and made her passing so very easy. Having been let down at our own vet, John was able to get the home visit sorted, many, many thanks.

First class service, visited within the hour and treated my new puppy. Only problem is now she is running around doing what puppies should do. I wished I had asked about the off switch is!

We would highly recommend vet care at home. Due to covid 19 and the lockdown restrictions we weren’t able to use our regular vet for home visits. Communication was excellent and John was always very prompt in responding to calls and emails. I’m so glad they were recommended to us as they were amazing.

Competent & friendly vet, professional, competitively priced & convenient for myself. I can highly recommend, especially if you don’t have transport or your pet doesn’t like the usual veterinary setting. 5 star! ⭐️

A very professional and friendly service, putting myself and my multi-cat household at ease. Having a house visit for 5 cats is stress free, time and energy saving for the cats and me... I am so glad I found John Rosie!
