I have a real love of animals, children, and traveling the world. In fact I’ve done all three. I started off working with children in private nurseries. I now have my own three beautiful children, with my husband, John.

I’ve travelled the world and loved working in Australia. I’ve had many pets including fish, hamsters, rabbits guinea pigs, cats and dogs. I’ll never forget my beautiful miniature dachshund, Oliver, he was my first family dog, and was so very much a family member. I was devastated when the time came to put him to sleep. I still think of the lovely times we had together. When my children get a little older, I look forward to having another one. I’ve also worked lots with animals, including working in a kennels and at the vets as a receptionist. And, of course, a special place like this was where I met my husband John.

I have a real passion for animals and want them to have the best possible treatment and care. This is why we have begun VetCare@Home, and I’m loving being part of it.

At present, I’m a very busy mum of three. I’m also a part-time pharmacy technician working in Manor Pharmacy, Belper. I am very happy to help you with any over the counter medication for your pets.

What is your role in the pharmacy? Dispensing human medicine, veterinary medicine and serving customers in the pharmacy.
What was your first pet? A fish and then a Russian hamster called Grace.
Favourite sport? Badminton, which I have played at county level for Derbyshire.
Guilty pleasure? Eating sweets!
What's your best advice for pet owners? Get your pets vaccinated. This includes rabbits. Unfortunately, I’ve seen a lot of poorly animals over the years that have been unvaccinated.
Interesting fact about yourself? I saw a shark a few meters away from me in Australia. I was scuba diving under the boat we were on at the time on the Great Barrier Reef.

John provided a service second to none, he did Poppy proud and made her passing so very easy. Having been let down at our own vet, John was able to get the home visit sorted, many, many thanks.

First class service, visited within the hour and treated my new puppy. Only problem is now she is running around doing what puppies should do. I wished I had asked about the off switch is!

We would highly recommend vet care at home. Due to covid 19 and the lockdown restrictions we weren’t able to use our regular vet for home visits. Communication was excellent and John was always very prompt in responding to calls and emails. I’m so glad they were recommended to us as they were amazing.

Competent & friendly vet, professional, competitively priced & convenient for myself. I can highly recommend, especially if you don’t have transport or your pet doesn’t like the usual veterinary setting. 5 star! ⭐️
